My Comcast program guide is now (even) worse

Actually looks like many users have already complained about it. I found some posts dated as far as one year back. Still this bottom advertisement banner is new to me. I don’t know what the deal is, probably they have launched it in some areas earlier than in others. Mine has appeared just today. Man, it’s annoying! Not only it eats up space, it’s making the guide even less usable! I thought it was inconvinient to scroll down (there is no Page Down button, you have to do it line by line), but I was wrong: as it turns out there is a way to make it worse. Now after each 5 lines I hit the banner and have to press the button again to get to the next page. Thank you, Comcast!

Oh well since I started my rant, here are some other feedback about my set-top box for Comcast:

1) I need ZOOM feature to watch old 4:3 shows on my 16:9 screen without letterbox. And it’s not just to the left and to the right from the image. Quite often, when a 16:9 show is broadcast on a non-HD channel, it’s using only about 50% of my screen in the center SURROUNDED by a black frame.

2) The set-top box is soo SLOW. It’s as if it is solving some kind of a moral dilemma before responding to each press of a button on the remote.

3) Work on the interface! People say TiVo is good, follow the lead!

4) Does the font have to be so big? Can’t you make it adjustable? My screen is capable of showing so much more then 5 lines of program guide!
